Me and Earl and the Dying Girl

Hello Luvlies!

Publisher: Amulet Books
Author: Jessie Andrews
Pages: 304
Publication Date: May 7, 2013

Greg Gaines tries his hardest to fit in at school and to not be seen with any friends, this is because he wants be belong to all of the groups SEEM to be as normal as possible. The only acceptation is his sort of, kind of, friend Earl who in his spare time makes movies with Greg and is a very talented in the art of being a jerk. When one of their fellow
classmates, Rachel is diagnosed with leukemia Greg's mom steps in and forces a friendship weather Greg and Earl like it or not. As the friend ship blossoms Rachel decides to stop the treatment. When this happens Greg and Earl decide to make a movie dedicated to Rachel and are forced to stand in the spotlight.

I personally was not a big fan of this book mainly because it took too long to get to the point. More than half of the book was filled with nothing but back story and when the point had arisen it was not played upon much and still wondered back to the past. Also if you are not a fan of profanity this is definitely not a book for you. It was filled with sexually awkward jokes and many slurs that can be considered to be offensive to some. Over all I would recommend this book if you can handle all of what was previously stated, if not then I would not recommend it.

Cupcake rating:
