Clockwork Angel (Mortal Instraments #1)

Hello Luvlies!

Publisher: Bloomsbury Publishing
Author: Cassandra Clare
Pages: 448
Publication Date: 2010

In a time when shadowhunters are barley winning a fight against the forces of darkness, one battle will change the courses of history forever. The year is 1878. Tessa Grey descends into London's supernatural underworld in search of her missing brother. She soon discovers her only allies are the demon-slaying shadowhunters- including Will and Jem, the mysterious boy she's attracted to. Soon they find themselves up against the Pandemonium Club, a secret organization of
vampires, demons, warlocks and humans. Equipped with a magical army of clockwork creatures, the club is out to rule the British Empire, and only Tessa and her allies can stop them.

This book is the first in the Infernal Devices series, it is filled with action AND romance in the littlest of ways that makes it just stand out. Now I know, you may be thinking: BUT HOW? Well it has just the right amount of adventure with things such as vampires, demons, and shadowhunters but also has just enough tension between the main character, Tessa and her two "manly friends" (hehehe) Jem and Will. Jem is very sweet and open with Tessa and is ok with showing his loving side while Will is very mysterious and has built walls to guard himself from showing too much emotion. To get into the book, Clockwork Angel is about a young girl who comes to London to live with her brother who had recently moved before the death of their aunt. As soon as Tessa arrives to London she is swept away by the mysterious sisters, Mrs. Black and Mrs. Dark who claim to be taking her to her brother. (warning this is NOT a spoiler it is on the book flap.) When Tessa is kidnapped by the sisters she learns of a new power that she possesses that soon leads her throughout the rest of the book.

When I was reading this I was absolutely stunned by the twists and turns that Cassandra Clare came up with. It was an absolute necessity for me to get the second book ASAP! I truly recommend this book and though it may be too early to say, I recommend the entire series! Not only is the action jaw dropping but Will and Jem will truly make anyone fall in love all over again.
